Classical Guitarist, Stephen Burnham PGDip.  is an experienced performer and member of the Magic Circle. The former magician has now returned to study to refine his technique and learn from some the world’s most esteemed classical guitarists.

Stephen started playing the guitar aged of 11 and displayed a natural aptitude for the instrument; achieving Grade 8 with the ABRSM at the age of 16. Then aged 19, Stephen got an agent and the bookings flooded in; obtaining residencies at several London hotels and restaurants, playing classic repertoire and standards; while studying with Antonio Albanez at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
In the mid-nineties Stephen’s career as a magician took off and he became a regular on cruise ships. During this time his interest in guitar never diminished and when back on dry land, he took up private lessons in 2012 with the Royal College of Music’s Senior Professor of Guitar, Carlos Bonell.
In 2014 Stephen successfully auditioned for a place at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and has now completed the Postgraduate Diploma with Professor of Guitar Graham Devine. Since graduating Stephen has continued to perform on a regular basis, including weekly recital at the Watford Pumphouse Theatre and Arts Centre and at least for the foreseeable future, he will not be sawing anyone in half.
